Pen International, Sydney Center, has been associated with the anthology project since its inception. The aims of this worldwide association of writers include emphasising the role of literature in the development of mutual understanding and world culture and promoting literature generally. Nicholas Jose, Mary Cunnane and Elizabeth Webby have all been executive members of the organization.

This is the website for Creative Writing, Discipline of English, University of Adelaide. The University of Adelaide is an active partner in the anthology project, and the Professor of Creative Writing in the Discipline of English, Nicholas Jose, is the general editor of the volume. He is a chief investigator for the Australia Research Council Linkage Grant. Kerryn Goldsworthy, a contributing editor for the anthology, is also associated with the university as a research fellow.

This is the website for the Koori Centre, University of Sydney. Indigenous literature will an important component of the Macquarie PEN Anthology of Australian Literature and a separate volume of Aboriginal Australian literature will also be published. Peter Minter, a contributing editor for the full anthology, and a co-editor of the stand alone volume, is a lecturer in Indigenous Studies at the Koori Centre, which has also contributed generously to the project in other ways.
